Terms of service
Review these terms before creating or using a Signal account.
1. Who you are contracting with
Signal is provided by Storytime (“we”, “us”). By creating an account you agree to these terms. If you are agreeing on behalf of a company, you confirm you may bind it.
2. What we provide
Signal connects to Instagram accounts you authorize, stores available data in your workspace and provides the features described on the features pages, subject to the limits on the pricing page. We provide the service using commercially reasonable efforts but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. Features may change; workspace export will remain available.
3. Your account and your Instagram connection
- You are responsible for what happens under your account and for keeping your API tokens secret.
- You must be authorized to connect each Instagram account and to act for it when Signal sends messages, replies to comments or requests usage rights.
- You must comply with Meta’s platform terms and Instagram’s community guidelines. Restrictions imposed by Meta may limit Signal’s features.
4. Acceptable use
Do not use Signal to:
- send unsolicited bulk messages, or messages that Instagram’s policies prohibit;
- harass or profile private individuals, or collect data beyond what authorized platform access provides;
- reuse a creator’s content beyond what they actually agreed to in a usage-rights approval;
- circumvent rate limits, resell access, or reverse engineer the service.
5. Creator content and usage rights
Signal helps you request and record permission; it does not grant rights to creator content. A saved approval records the terms presented and the response received through its link. You are responsible for deciding whether that permission covers each intended use and for seeking legal advice when needed.
6. Payment
- Paid plans are charged in advance, monthly or yearly, at the prices on the pricing page.
- Yearly plans are billed in advance at the yearly price. Fees are not refunded pro rata after cancellation, and access continues through the paid period.
- We will give at least 30 days’ notice by email before a price change affects you.
- Taxes are your responsibility where we are not required to collect them.
7. Cancellation and data export
You may cancel from Signal at any time. Workspace export is available on every plan, including free, with JSON data and CSV downloads for mentions and creators. After cancellation, we retain your data for 30 days before deleting it unless you request earlier deletion.
8. Estimates and reporting
Reach and earned media value are estimates based on available follower and public engagement data. They are labeled as estimates and should not be presented as measured reach or revenue.
9. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, Signal is provided as-is. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, data loss beyond our backups, or actions Meta takes against an account. Our total liability in any twelve-month period is limited to the amount you paid us in that period. Nothing here limits liability that cannot legally be limited.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. Material changes are announced by email and on this page at least 30 days before they take effect, and the date at the top changes. Continuing to use Signal after that is acceptance.
11. Governing law and contact
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York. Questions go to [email protected].
This page is not legal advice or a substitute for your own review. If your procurement process requires a negotiated agreement or data processing agreement, contact us.
